Jaisalmer, means the Hill
fort of Jaisal. Jaisalmer was one of the last states to sign a
treaty with the British. The present descendant is Brijraj Singh.
Jaisalmer is know as the
city of Palaces. Jaisalmer is filled with many artistic structures and
monuments of local historical importance. Jaisalmer's medieval mud
fortress and walled township make it a popular tourist destination. A few
quiet days in Jaisalmer and the desert around can be a wonderful way of
unwinding from the chaos of larger cities. |
